Army Equestrian sportsmen win laurels

Making a first in the annals of equestrian sports of the Sri Lanka Army, three Army riders have won three trophies at the Cross Country Horse Riding Competition held in Kandy on Sunday (01st October). According to Army media, the competition conducted by the Sri Lanka Equestrian Association (SLEA) at the Victoria Golf and Country Resort, saw five top notch Army horsemen vie for honours in a number of events.

Exhibiting fine horsemanship, the Army riders were able to win three trophies. The cross country competition also known as hunter trails required the competing horsemen to overcome 10 jumps, covering two and a half kilometers in 15 minutes in a long hurdle race to clinch the title.
